My Experience:

For me, this film filled me with nostalgia when I watched the stories brought to life. The team behind bringing them to the screen did an amazing job. The “Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark” series written by Alvin Schwartz and illustrated by Stephen Gammell were so well done that even though they scared the crap out of me, I would always pick up the books and get into them. When these stories were brought to life, I was freaked out by the amazing work that the film team created. When this film ended, I was brought to tears because I was filled with so much nostalgia and love for it.

About:

Based on the books written by Alvin Schwartz and illustrated by Stephen Gammell.

It is about a group of three friends who live in Mill Valley, Pennsylvannia. In 1968 on Halloween, Stella Nicholls, Auggie Hilderbrandt and Chuck Steinberg are looking to visit the mansion belonging to the Bellows. On this journey, they run into some trouble and meet up with a guy named Ramon Morales.

Once at the Bellows’ mansion, the group begins poking around trying to find any trace of the family. Stella finds a book that causes spooky things to happen.

Perfect for October:

This movie is perfect for October because it takes place during Halloween. The stories will get your attention.
