Boy Scout Lane of Stevens Point, WI

Floating lights in the distance could be a lot of different things. They could either be lightning bugs or maybe a flashlight from a person looking to find their way. Could the lights be from something that might not even be there? Who is brave enough to find out?

About 50 or 60 years ago, on a camping trip, a group of Boy Scouts turned up missing off of W River Dr. Deep in these woods, a mystery and a horror is known and unsolved. There are many theories about what happened to this group of boys.

Could the suspect be the person that is supposed to be the one protecting them? There are many reasons why someone can be driven to commit a premeditated or an unintended crime. Maybe they had a bad day and the littlest movement can tip them off. People have reported that either the bus driver or Scoutmaster have murdered the boys.

Vehicles malfunction, right? One theory goes that the bus carrying the troop accidentally crashed or some say the bus caught on fire. Brave goers have reported seeing and hearing the bus in the distance.

Walking in the woods it is easy to get turned around. There are cases where nature explorers wander too far in the dark with very little light and have given in to the elements. Stories have gone around where a couple of the boys left the camp and who knows.

Forest fires are a common element that consume the earth around them. Different things can cause these fires to ignite. For example, it could be weather elements, human error and the unexpected. Remember those floating lights that were mentioned. It might be possible that one of those started the fire that unfortunately took the life of this group of boys.

Questions:

  • Is this a mystery event that the locals want to keep secret?
  • Which version of the story do you believe?
